Position Summary

The UNM College of Nursing is seeking a student employee to perform a variety of office and clerical duties. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, copying, data entry, word processing, confidential record keeping, e-filing, and organizing. This position demands excellent administrative, computer, organizational, and customer service skills as well as attention to detail. Reports to the Academic Advising, Manager. Coordinates administrative activities and provides clerical support for the Academic Advisement team. Assist with incoming and outcoming phone calls that are centered around academic advisement supportive services. This includes relaying messages, aiding with events, and helping students schedule advisement appointments.

We are looking for a team player with a professional attitude, who is detail-oriented, resourceful, displays initiative and follow through and possesses strong organizational skills. The successful candidate will assist with Academic Advisement with outreach initiatives and provide some general assistance with Strategic & Enrollment Services office duties. Support student requests according to the business needs of the office assisting with campus tours and escorting students to the Badging Office. Send out communication plans prepared by advisors that coincide with the timeframes within the advisement academic calendar. The successful candidate will work between 10 and 15 hours per week.

  • Must be currently enrolled as a UNM student
  • Current and prospective nursing students
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment, including copier, telephone, fax machine, and personal computer
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Knowledge of research language
