POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW

The Ryan Institute on Complexity at the Kellogg School of Management (Northwestern) is seeking exceptional candidates for post-doctoral fellow positions. Candidates will work in the Artificial Intelligence and Human Prosperity Laboratory under Prof. Benjamin Jones. The research agenda will focus on using artificial intelligence to accelerate progress in scientific advance and marketplace innovation. The initial term of these positions is one year, with possibilities for renewal. Review of applications is on a rolling basis. The target start date is the summer of 2025 but can be earlier. Our priority is to attract technically strong researchers who are interested in using AI tools to open new avenues to human progress. Candidates must have a proven record of publications and completed projects that demonstrate an outstanding ability to work with big data and AI toolsets.

Post-doctoral fellows will work in a collaborative environment within the Ryan Institute and its laboratories as well as with Professor Han Liu's MAGICS (Modern Artificial General Intelligible and Computer Systems) laboratory in Northwestern's Computer Science department.

Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in computer science, computational social science, complex systems, physics, network science, applied mathematics, economics, or related fields;
* Prior experience in programming and working with large-scale data; expertise in machine learning;
* Active participation in the scientific community;
* Strong communication skills;
* Ability to work in a highly collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

The expected base pay range for this position is $ $61008 - $80,000 This base pay range is for a twelve-month academic appointment and is subject to negotiation.
