SCS Engineers is looking for a forward-thinking environmental Project Director with a strong technical presence and recognized business development capabilities to lead our Industrial Clean Air Act national practice as we expand into new markets, building on our reputation in the solid waste industry. In this role you will have significant growth opportunities within the firm and the industry, as you will provide leadership and coordination for regional projects and clients, and will work with senior managers in developing clients and accomplishing projects. You will need an entrepreneurial attitude to lead business development and technical efforts focused on providing strategic solutions to our clients' most complex air quality problems.

We're looking for someone who is considered an expert in the field. It will involve selling, doing and coaching teams to win and do work. You will report to a Senior Vice President and can be hybrid out of any SCS office. We prefer someone to be hybrid in an office, but will possibly consider remote.

As our CAA leader, you will be able to make a significant impact in the company, and perhaps even bigger in the communities we serve. You will be able to work with clients from project conception through final delivery while also leading our project delivery teams preparing the necessary air quality documentation.

At SCS, we value your professional development. You will have many opportunities to represent us at conferences, delivering presentations and networking with clients and colleagues. We will also offer opportunities to strengthen your technical, management and leadership skills through training, coaching and mentoring while working with a supportive, driven team.

  • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events.
  • Technical expert and trainer for air quality matters, regulatory analyses as guided by the Clean Air Act, as well as state and local regulations and evolving GHG regulations and reporting programs.
  • Provide consulting services for air permitting (such as NSR, PSD, Title V, GHG, and state-level pre-construction and operating permits), and air quality impact assessments involving dispersion modeling and health risk assessment.
  • Oversee the scoping or conducting air pollution control device selection and evaluations, source emission monitoring, and various ambient and source emission measurements and methods.
  • Manage project teams and staff, including providing technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring.
  • Help recruit and train additional staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering, meteorology, or related engineering or environmental discipline is required.
