Our client is seeking a skilled Engineering Leaderto guide the technical direction and support the development of innovative digital products. This role involves shaping new and improving existing products, evaluating risk, and collaborating closely with architecture and product teams to meet strategic objectives. You'll also play a critical role in team development, helping individuals grow in their careers while managing resources effectively.

You will be relied upon to make data-driven decisions and devise a clear and concise strategy. You should feel comfortable working independently on complex problems and driving teams to execute on your developed strategy.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and refinement of advanced software functionalities, including prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Drive Product Vision: Work closely with the Scrum Master and Product Owners to translate the product vision into actionable plans for the engineering teams.
  • Collaborate on Architecture: Partner with Solution Engineering and Enterprise Architecture to ensure the alignment of development efforts with SDLC standards and architectural best practices.
  • Foster Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a liaison with internal departments, ensuring that product development remains on schedule and aligns with business requirements.
  • Implement Best Practices: Establish and enforce modern software development best practices across the engineering teams, focusing on quality and scalability.
  • Develop and Mentor Teams: Provide strategic guidance, career advice, and growth opportunities for team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
  • Optimize Team Capacity: Manage team capacity to meet development goals and deadlines, reporting key metrics like productivity and utilization to senior leadership.
  • Enhance DevOps Capabilities: Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, ensuring efficient and seamless deployment processes.
Your Experience:
  • Technical Expertise:
    • 10+ years in enterprise software development, with 5+ years using languages like C#, Java, or Node.js.
    • 4+ years working with both relational and NoSQL databases, or a blend of Node.js experience and modern front-end frameworks like Angular or React.
  • Architectural Knowledge: Proficiency in distributed systems architecture, including Microservices and SOA, as well as a strong grasp of SOLID principles, architectural patterns, and Object-Oriented Design.
  • QA and Agile Mastery: Solid understanding of quality assurance principles and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban).
  • Leadership Skills: At least 3 years of management experience, with a proven track record in leading and inspiring engineering teams.
  • Strong Communicator: Exceptional organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with an ability to convey technical information effectively.
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
