This position is located at the Milliken Valway site in LaGrange, GA. The Control Equipment Technician (CET) reports to the Engineering Services Manager. The CET is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the electrical systems of the production and facility equipment according to safety and predictive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's goals and objectives. Training will be completed on 1st shift. Candidate will then work 2nd shift and possibly 3rd shift as needed. Work hours require flexibility outside of the normal work schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment
Reinstall guards and safety equipment correctly after completion of any work
Ensure D.C. / A.C. motors, breakers and other equipment switches are in good working order
Read electrical drawings and ensure electrical components of machinery are operating properly
Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order
Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved
Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting
Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process

Qualifications: Required

Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in an electrical-related field
Thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including PC hardware components, desktop operation system software and application software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)

The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in the following:

Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment
Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc.)
