Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking Summer Systems Engineer Interns for our Bridgeton, MO facility. This position willhelp our Systems Engineering (SE) team meet the technical performance requirements on complex system development programs and execute an interdisciplinary process to ensure that the customer and stakeholder needs and requirements are satisfied in a high quality, trustworthy, cost efficient, and schedule compliant manner.The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Students will also get to utilize our companies flexible work schedule.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the SE Managers, SE Technical Director, and Lead Systems Engineers on various systems engineering activities
  • May use Matlab and/or Simulink software in the performance of assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, and working on a Bachelor's Degree inEngineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and oral

Desired Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge and familiarity with the use of Matlab and/or Simulink
  • Coursework in some of the following subjects: calculus I/II, linear algebra, complex variables, probability & statistics, and differential equations
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Products
