DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for storing food and supplies in residents' dining areas, including refrigeration units and storage closets. You will prepare food portions in advance for meal tray assembly and create nourishing snacks for residents in the evening and between meals. Additionally, you will assemble supplies and supplements for distribution. You will also set up the tray line with the necessary food items, trays, dishes, portioning utensils, and tray tags. Maintaining cleanliness is essential, so you will clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. You will also dispose of trash and soiled linens appropriately and transport tray trucks, food items, snacks, and supplies to and from the dietary building. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with a 30-minute flex lunch.
- Rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
- Overtime may be required as needed.
- May change based on operational needs.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirement:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willingness to work in South Mountain, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
- Previous food service worker experience.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation requirements in dietary department/food service operation.
- Experience cleaning, washing, peeling, slicing, and dicing food items; using kitchen equipment such as VCM/food processor/tabletop chopper/garbage disposal; chopping, dicing, and slicing meats, poultry, fish, and cheeses; grilling, steaming, and heating simple foods such as eggs, sandwiches and hamburgers; preparing sandwiches, assembling salads, and serving portions including desserts; preparing and serving hot and cold beverages; cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, dishes, pots, pans, work surfaces, and other kitchen items: assist in loading and unloading food delivery trucks; and transporting food supplies to and from freezers, refrigerators and storerooms.
- Experience working in areas such as assisted living/long-term care facilities, correctional facilities, hospitals, nursing homes/long-term care facilities, fast food restaurants, family or small chain restaurants, large chain restaurants, cafeterias, school lunch programs, and interacting with patients/residents/customers while serving food or cleaning in a dining room.

- You must pass a background investigation.
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
