DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Local Veterans' Employment Representative, you will strive to maintain, enhance, and apply knowledge of workforce development programs, services, policies, regulations, legislation, and procedures. Specific duties include implementing and maintaining services to businesses related to programs required by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), including Wagner-Peyser, veterans, trade, and other legislation that can be fulfilled by hiring veterans. Showcase your collaborative abilities by conducting employer outreach to explain the benefits of hiring veterans, in addition to spearheading efforts to hold career fairs and serve as a PA CareerLink representative at such functions. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners at multiple organizational levels. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Huntingdon.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of technical or paraprofessional employment services or veterans' employer outreach work, and a bachelor's degree; or
- One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- All positions must be filled by a veteran with preference in such appointments given first to qualified service-connected disabled veterans; then, if no such disabled veteran is available, to qualified eligible veterans; and if no such eligible veteran is available, then to qualified eligible persons as defined by Title 38, USC Chap. 41, Section 4101 (3-5).
