Evanston, IllinoisAdd to Favorite Jobs Email this Job Department: MCC Undergraduate Engineering TEACHING FACULTY/FRESHMAN ENGINEERING ADVISER The McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science plans to hire a continuing, full-time Assistant Professor of Instruction (non-tenure track; rank negotiable) to serve as a freshman adviser in undergraduate engineering. The adviser will support first year students in academic and career planning. In addition to these duties, the adviser will be expected to teach three quarter-length courses annually, emphasizing freshman design. Qualifications: Preferably a doctorate in engineering, with a minimum of 3-5 years of academic or industry experience. A desire to work with undergraduate students is a must. Research interest in engineering education will be a plus. Compensation: The expected base pay range for this position is $83,000 - $93,000. This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation. Summer salary, including from sponsored projects, may also be available. Due to summer advising responsibilities associated with this role, first-year advisers receive 1.5 months of summer salary as part of their standard compensation. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
