Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Public Health is seeking a senior level Tenured Professor or Tenured Associate Professor in any area of public health. Qualified candidates should have a PhD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent with extensive experience and community engagement in the field of public health. Additional requirements include a strong record of scholarly achievement, sustained extramural research funding as Principal Investigator, experience in teaching and mentoring a new generation of public health researchers and a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, anti-racism, and LGBTQ+ rights.
The successful candidate will serve as the Vice Dean and Tenured Professor or Tenured Associate Professor at the School of Public Health.

Responsibilities:
* Serve as part of the Dean's Leadership Team.
* Report and work directly with the Dean on all matters related to school oversight and management
* Serve as proxy to the dean as needed (including the running of meetings in the Dean's absence).
* Create a culture of excellence among the SPH faculty members, staff, and students as per the 3 pillars of the school--scholarship, teaching, and community engagement.
* Work with the Dean to liaise with Rutgers Health chancellor's team and RU leadership.
* Work with the Dean and Chief of Staff to provides supervision and mentorship of departmentchairs.
* Work with the faculty affairs team (Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Director for Faculty and Staff Affairs, and Chief of Staff) on all aspects of faculty affairs processes including mentoring and annual performance evaluations, appointments/reappointments, tenure and promotion processes, faculty mentoring, recruitment, onboarding, and orientation.
* Work directly with the Assistant Dean for Research to further build extramural funding portfolio and excellence in scholarship.
* Work with Associate Dean for Finance and Administration and Director of Marketing and Communications as needed.
* Serve as primary supervisor for Assistant Deans for Student Services and Alumni Affairs, Admissions and Enrollment, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion for Faculty & Talent Development.
* Lead efforts for chair and program director evaluations.
* Lead efforts to develop the strategic plan for of the school every 5 years.
* Represent the SPH on the ASPPH, APHA and other national groups as needed.
* Foster a culture with zero tolerance of harassment and discrimination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Successful applicants will have a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent)
* A strong record of scholarship in public health
* A sustained record of major extramural research funding as Principal Investigator
* Experience teaching at undergraduate and/or graduate level
* Strong written and oral communication skills for both professional and general audiences
* Evidence of leadership regarding diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, antiracism, and LGBTQ+ rights
* Experience mentoring master's and doctoral students as well as early career faculty
* Evidence of professional community engagement
