The School of Communication and Information (SC&I) is a dynamic center of learning at the heart of the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus. The Department of Journalism and Media Studies (
JMS) helps students learn the craft of finding and reporting the news, as well as making other types of media, using cutting-edge tools and technology. The department's courses also aid students in learning to evaluate and understand the wide variety of media forms that permeate their lives. Students gain a grounding in the history, ethics and values of journalism that can prepare them to be media producers during an exciting time of innovation while learning to analyze media systems and power in ways that help them become better-equipped citizens and community members. |

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply.
