Description
Position Summary: Cast pottery ware in plaster molds by filling molds with slip from supply tanks. Pour excess slip from molds once clay shell has reached specified thickness. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned) 60% De-mold by pouring excess slip from molds once clay shell has reached specified thickness. 20% Pouring molds. 10% Set up and tear down of molds. 5% Pump slip to fill tanks. 5% Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications
Education and Experience: * High school diploma or GED Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Ability to use hand tools applicable to trade. * Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. * Attention to detail. Special Requirements: Location: Aurora, NY Equipment Used: Rubber scrapers, wire tools, sponges and clay trimmer Safety Equipment: Safety shoes Physical and Mental Requirements: * Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, push, pull, lift, crouch, kneel, bend, use fingers to grasp, handle, feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands or wrists. * Exerts in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. * Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.
