Provide technical leadership in supplying advanced level IT support services to units or on campus wide basis. Services provided involve conceptualizing, planning, designing and implementing complete and integrated information technology solutions that meet business needs and support long term goals. Use advanced IT architecture concepts to resolve highly complex issues. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: user department managers and staff, IT management and professional staff, vendors and contractors. Configure and design cloud and DevOps enabled services using new or existing documentation and examples for highly complex and difficult tasks without supervision; document processes and coordinates activities for junior staff; handle novel problems spanning multiple services. Expert knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS & Azure), orchestration platforms (SALT, Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formations), and scripting/automation languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.). This job requires broad knowledge of IT systems management, infrastructure, and architectural design and integration and related components and applications. Advanced skills with one or more of the following: AWS, Azure, GCP, Ansible, SALT Stack, Terraform, Cloud Formations, Azure Resource Manager and ARC, Jenkins, GiTLab, SpaceLift, Python, PowerShell, Expertise is required in IT service delivery methodology and techniques, industry practices and campus policies and procedures. The IT Cloud & DevOps Engineer's role is to install, configure, test, tune, troubleshoot, upgrade, maintain, secure, and provide advanced support for IT data cloud and DevOps enabled services. Document actions taken. Follow up on issues until a satisfactory resolution is reached. Consult with cloud customers to guide the implementation of services on cloud platforms.
