This role is to support operations based out of our central Florida office. The ideal candidate shall reside in or have existing plans to relocate to this market. The Construction Manager will be responsible for the completion of construction and/or maintenance projects as assigned by the Project Manager in a timely and efficient manner using company or outsourced resources. They will oversee projects up to $20 million in scope and will support the Project Manager by creating a three-week look ahead schedule of activities. The Construction Manager will be highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to meet strict deadlines. The ideal candidate is self-directed, results-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, continually changing environment. They will work with the Project Manager on creating and updating work plans, project tracking reports, budget reports, safety reports, quality control reports. The Construction Manager will be required to drive a vehicle for the company. The Construction Manager will oversee the construction related project activities and be responsible for performing all activities within proposed budgets and schedules defined by the project and Project Manager. The Construction Manager will take pictures and check for completeness and quality of the finished product for tracking of daily activities. Responsible for conducting daily reports for completed work and delays encountered, materials delivered, etc. The Construction Manager will be responsible for subcontractor quality, scheduling, production, and tracking. The Construction Manager will be responsible for the safety of the entire project. Will be supporting the preparation of scope of work for subcontractors to include change orders, understanding of project specifications, construction methods, review of design for construction feasibility, inspection of work for craftsmanship, specification conformity, scheduling, taking, and issuing clearances and change orders. The Construction Manager will coordinate priorities and timely project completion with the Program Managers/Project Manager and subcontractors while managing a range of 1-5 subordinate supervisors (Foreman) who supervise a total of 1-8 crewmembers each. Project Execution
- Ability to oversee all project phases for projects up to 20 million in size
- Verify plans with engineers, architects, surveyors, and site compliance
- Oversee, manage, and verify site access
- Establish and operate a staging area/Forward Operating base, as required
- Direct the mobilization, demobilization, and work tasks of crews, equipment, and materials
- Plan and manage teams with positive outcomes for project safety, production rates, and quality in accordance with specifications and project plan.
- Read, comprehend, and interpret site plans, construction drawings, scopes of work, requirements, and project deliverables
- Develop and execute the tasking, schedule, and cost targets in accordance with the Program/Project Manager and manage all day- to-day construction scheduling of crews, equipment, subcontractors, and third-party testing
- Assist in producing Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA's) for safety and production requirements.
- Produce all daily/production reports each day and track any delays, schedule variances, impacts, and overall workforce and equipment utilization for ITL and subcontractors.
- Track, receive, and ensure completeness and accuracy of all suppliers' delivery tickets, subcontractors' daily reports, quality control results
- Manage and monitor subcontractor work, quality, and safety.
- Assist PM in developing planning activities and brief each crew on the plan for each activity at least a day ahead of task start.
- Direct planning for and ordering materials while maintaining receipt, storage, and site staging
- Direct the project team in developing and briefings for project status, record minutes for all meetings
- Work with Program/Project Manager on maintaining schedule, performing updates, and managing critical path and change orders
Teamwork
- Participate as a vital crew member and contribute towards the success of the project and the organization
- Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas
- Collaborate with other company personnel to meet organizational and project deadlines, metrics, and mission objectives
- Perform timecard updates daily and sign timecards weekly to support reporting and payroll activities.
- Assist in daily timecard tracking, ensure all timecards are done each day by all employees on the project and that they are accurate.
- Support time tracking audits and Deltek reports to assess performance, costs, hours, and production matches daily reporting
- Verify certified payrolls matches project employee hours
Safety
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety program
- Attend/perform daily and weekly on-site field safety briefings
- Support company safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections
- Work in a safe, responsible manner without intentional or unintentional risks for injuring oneself or endanger the wellbeing of others
- Assist the company in tracking all safety-related incidents and by providing necessary safety equipment and literature for onsite safety training
- Cooperate with safety personnel, supervisors, managers, and investigators to ensure proper procedures are conducted according to the Company and customer's safety policies.
- Operate a company vehicle in accordance with local laws/regulations
- Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
- Keep assigned vehicle clean and orderly
- Report maintenance requirements and/or damage in a timely manner
- Identify and report safety violations to safety personnel, supervisors, managers
Education |
- High school diploma/GED and an associate degree (or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited four-year college or university (preferred)

Experience |
- Five (5) years of Construction Manager/Superintendent with project scope of $10 million or greater in scope OR
- Five (5) years Project Management overseeing projects up to $10 million in scope OR
- Ten (10) years of experience as a Foreman on projects up to $10 million in scope

Licenses/ Certification/ Registration |
- Current driver's license
- Proof of U.S citizenship
|
Special knowledge, skills, & abilities |
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products and other project
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Understanding of mechanical terms and tools as well as physical and mechanical installation specifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical underground construction activities
- Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies
- The ability to use hand tools, power tools, and industry test equipment
- Ability to read and understand drawings, job specifications, project schedules, quality control requirements, etc.
- Work schedule may require open availability including weekends, holidays, and overnights determined by the needs of the business; must be flexible
- Ability to work in the field for extended periods of time
- Must be able to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment, post-offer background check and drug screening
- The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with business and technical managers at all levels of the organization.
- This position requires the ability to work with minimal oversight but willingness to follow directions and adhere to corporate project safety and construction industry standards closely.
- The work may include all weather conditions, day, or night, with occasional tasks away from the project site.
