Requirements

    Bachelor-s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • One+ (1+) years of experience working as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements OR one + (1+) years of experience working as a Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of one of more of the following:
    • Microcontrollers
    • Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
    • System on a Chip (SoC)
    • Platform on a Module (PoM)
    • Single board computers such as VME, VPX, and PXI
    • RF Cable Assemblies
    • Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
  • Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills

Desired Skills

  • Three+ (3+) years of experience working as an Electrical/Electronics Engineer or a Computer Engineer in development, design, and prototyping requirements
  • One (1) year experience supporting DoD or Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Programs
  • Demonstrated experience programming and configuring one of more of the following:
    • Microcontrollers
    • Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs)
    • System on a Chip (SoC)
    • Platform on a Module (PoM)
    • Single board computers such as VME, VPX, and PXI
  • Experience designing and developing one of more of the following:
    • RF Cable Assemblies
    • Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCAs)
  • Experience designing and developing power-based hardware solutions to solve and optimize different voltage and current requirements
  • Understanding of root cause analysis of RF systems and interoperability
  • Knowledge of sensor signal processing, signal detection, probability - statistics
  • Knowledge of sensor integration, shooter, and command and control systems
  • Knowledge of sensor array processing methods, antennas, and propagation
  • Thorough understanding of NSWC operations


Description

PRIMARY DUTIES - RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs a variety of analyses of technical engineering data of limited scope. Under close supervision interprets the data, verifies product documentation, designs, layouts, or drawings for adequacy and reliability in one or more of the following areas:
    • RF systems requirements generation
    • RF systems hardware development
    • RF design and development
    • RF systems integration and testing
  • Develops, documents, and recommends solutions or improvements for technical engineering problems of limited scope in one or more of the following areas:
    • Radio wave propagation
    • Digital signal processing
    • RF and/or digital hardware design and integration
    • Threat RF systems exploitation
    • Communications theory
    • Waveform development and modeling
    • Electronic Warfare systems
  • Assists in the preparation of draft or finished technical presentations, reports, process studies, or technical information used for both internal and external dissemination
  • Assists in the analysis, development and maintenance of technical databases and supportive engineering systems
  • Support firmware and hardware development languages for embedded system design for microcontrollers, Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA-s), System on a Chip (SoC), Platform on a Module (PoM), and single board computers (VME, VPX, PXI, etc.)
  • Assists with the design and documentation of cable assemblies, to include cable lists; fabrication details; material specifications; wire pinouts; length; unique wire number identification; termination points; signal type(s); assembly weight; low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) status; cable label details; and build, inspection, packing and shipping instructions
  • Assists with the design and development of RF distribution components, antennas, and feedlines in accordance with specifications and engineering standards for installation

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
