Moog Space and Defense Group (SDG) is looking for a Senior Project Engineer to provide engineering leadership and project leadership for Space Actuation & Avionics (A&A) development projects within WNY. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and will have an onsite work schedule in East Aurora, NY.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for design and development of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, electro-mechanical, servo-mechanism, and electro-pneumatic components and systems. This includes planning and executing technical scope on several small development projects or one larger development project and ensuring project milestones are being met so that the expectations of our customers are met or exceeded. You will be expected to collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering staff as well as Program Management.

To be considered for the position of Senior Project Engineer, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 6+ years of experience or, a Master's Degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in the design, analysis, development and production of complex electromechanical hardware.

  • Experience with component design, development and verification testing.

  • Experience leading technical projects.

  • The ability to effectively communicate technical and programmatic information and to manage competing priorities of multiple stakeholders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of technical, cost and schedule performance for development programs

  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses

  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports

  • Set the direction for the technical engineering team, coordinate a cross-functional team of designers, drafters, analysts, technicians, and manufacturing engineers

  • Mentoring and training of less experienced project engineers

  • Be the main technical point of contact for the customer

  • Proposal volume development and costing support for the Actuation & Avionics business unit

  • Occasional travel to support customer meetings and business development needs

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $85,000.00-$140,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
