Moog is looking for aNavy Aviation Business Unit Directorresponsible for planning and executing the Navy book of business and long-term growth strategy for Military Global Sustainment.In this role, you will work with the Military Aircraft Aftermarket Division locations in East Aurora, NY, Torrance, CA and Wolverhampton, UK. This position is based in East Aurora, NY.

Moog Military Aircraftis the leader of advanced flight controls for military aircraft. We are positioned on most aircraft in the marketplace, supplying reliable systems that are highly supportable and add significant value for our customers. Moog Military Aircraft is a Division of Moog (NYSE:MOG.A and MOG.B).

Here's what you will bring working on:

  • Be responsible for planning and executing the Navy book of business and long-term growth strategy.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow Moog's position in the Navy sustainment business market.
  • Promote and strengthen intimacy with Moog customers and partners.
  • Drive Profit Contribution in support of Military Global Sustainment's financial expectations. Responsible for recurring and new business pricing and contract negotiation outcomes and establishing the business case and risk/opportunity assessment for all related decisions.
  • Develop, build, and lead capable and competent program managers with established succession plans to provide career growth as well as management stability.
  • Lead, sustain and expand the organization's book of business through the leadership and/or support of proposal teams and business capture campaigns.
  • Achieve timely resolution of outstanding issues through effective day-to-day communications with the customer, Moog management teams, and Moog functional organizations.
  • Monitor multiple military and industry customer budgets and procurement forecasts and effectively translate and communicate the future demand in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Leverage experience and influence in negotiations and problem resolution with the customer.
  • Be accountable for large program(s) and/or product line program performance across sites. This individual will have influence in business decisions for the operating group.
  • Should be able to work closely and constructively with other senior managers to represent the needs of the customer within Moog, sometimes in conflict with competing organizational interests or focus.
  • 25% or more travel may be required both domestically and internationally.

Here's what you will need to bring with you:

  • BS/BA degree in the field of Engineering, Business, or similar discipline is required. MBA or higher degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of sales experience in an MRO field is preferred. 15+ years of experience is highly desired. Additional certifications in defense procurement or similar training are preferred.
  • Proven capabilities in budget/forecast planning, negotiation, and sales force management is required.
  • Progressive experience, culminating into a leadership role overseeing multi-site business development activities is required.
  • US Military Officer with warfare, acquisition, procurement and/or contracts experience is highly desired.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $180,000.00-$210,000.00 Annually

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
