library's hours of operation, and can accommodate a wide range of individual availability, including weekends and night/swing/day shifts. |

Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalent. |
Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
Completion of an accredited police academy or prior law enforcement experience. |
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Patrols and monitors the facility for situations that might endanger the safety and security of patrons, collections, and equipment.
- Maintains ongoing competency with security alarms, fire panels, video surveillance, alarm monitoring system, and door alarms.
- Reports daily to Library Security Coordinator on security-related issues and maintains logs of shift activities as well as "Lost and Found".
- Uses email, phone and radio communications between Library Security Office and Campus Police.
- Initiates emergency procedures when appropriate and assists with the implementation of these procedures as instructed.
- Stays current on methods/practices, knowledge, and skills in all job competencies.
