Here is how the Accounting Intern role will impact our business:

As an Accounting Intern, you will have the opportunity to support our three accounting sub-departments: Production Accounting, Commercial Accounting and Corporate Accounting. Production Accounting supports the accounting for the capital cost to develop and expenses incurred to operate our wells, the acquisition of leases, joint interest billing (JIB) operations and reserves. Commercial Accounting supports our commercial and midstream operations, commodity risk management functions and distribution of revenues to our landowners. Corporate Accounting is responsible for consolidations and the external reporting of our financial results in addition to shared services functions for accounts payable, cash management and general accounting.

During your time as an Accounting Intern, you will gain experience working in the energy industry and learn how the Accounting Department supports all aspects of our business. You will assist with financial statement close processes and be able to apply your accounting skills to the real-world in supporting and contributing to the success of our department.

The Accounting Intern responsibilities include but arenot limited to:



  • Perform journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Perform financial statement analysis
  • Process non-operated revenue checks
  • Process non-operated JIB invoices
  • Process revenue and JIB PPAs
  • Document financial statement close processes
  • Assist with revenue distributions
  • Assist with accounting for land and lease activity
  • Assist financial statement tie out and 10Q preparation


Required Experience and Skills:



  • Open to all Accounting majors, undergraduate and graduate
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Accounting degree program
  • Must have at least completed sophomore year at an accredited 4-year degree program prior to the start of the internship
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Experience working with large data sets and BI tools preferred, but not required



Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, andTennesseeunless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
