CDL Bus Driver Pool

Hourly Rate: $17.50

Applications Accepted through Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 6 PM CT

Bus and CDL Drivers needed to drive Parkland College vehicles and transport Parkland College students, staff, faculty, athletic teams, student organizations to events.

Essential Job Functions

  • Parkland College maintains a fleet of vehicles listed below:
  • 34 passenger bus - air brakes
  • 22 passenger bus - mechanical brakes
  • 15 passenger van
  • 11 passenger van
  • Safely transport passengers.
  • Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • CDL with passenger endorsement.
  • Be subject to a criminal background check with fingerprinting and drug screen (CDL Drivers are subject to random drug tests per IDOT regulations).
  • Safe driving record as verified by driver's abstract.
  • Must be available for occasional overnight and weekend trips.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment. This applies to all SURS annuitants except those receiving their annuity under either the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
