JOB TITLE:

Credit Analyst/Academic Advisor

JOB PURPOSE:

Evaluate academic records of University of Wyoming Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing (FWWSON) students to validate college course credits; coordinate admission processes, provide academic advising, as directed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Advise Undergraduate Nursing students; meet with prospective students; reply to student inquiries; coordinate BSN admission processes.
  • Maintain student records; complete transcript evaluations and request update to degree evaluations; assist students with petitions and financial aid documents/petitions, monitor student progression and graduation eligibility. Maintain program related email distribution lists.
  • Manage enrollment processes for select nursing and non-nursing courses.
  • Provide input for UW catalog, student handbook, website changes and program scholarships.
  • Maintain program statistics and various reports.
  • Work with program directors on student recruitment.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Coordinate/assist with designated projects such as program orientations, FWWSON student ceremonies, revision of student/admission policies and curriculum.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States, as sponsorship for work authorization or work visas is not available for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 1 year progressively responsible work-related experience in higher education.

Required licensure, certification, registration or other requirements: Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy .

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Experience with degree audit and/or student information systems in higher education such as WyoWeb and Banner.
  • Experience evaluating transcripts/equivalencies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Familiarity with academic and non-academic requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

No major sources of discomfort, standard office environment. May require regional travel and evening or weekend events.
