The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing outstanding customer service to individual's accessing behavioral health services at our Leesburg Clinic. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional customer service skills, computer and data entry experience, strong written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have previous professional experience utilizing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) to maintain service delivery records.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Greeting and checking in individuals in a healthcare setting, and assisting new individuals interested in enrolling for Departmental services.
* Answering and directing general inquiries from individuals, both in-person and over the telephone, scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and verifying billing and insurance information.
* Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, vendors, visitors, and the public; provides information; responds to questions and refers individuals to appropriate staff.
* Manages medical provider schedules; sets-up hours of availability; notifies individuals of appointment cancellations due to staff illness, inclement weather, and other emergencies; and facilitates rescheduling activities.
* Accurately enters information into the Electronic Health Record system.
Position Hours: Mon - Fri: 8:30am - 5pm with a required closing shift at least once per month until 8 pm. This position may be required to work more than one closing shift per month depending on staffing and program needs.
Hiring salary will be commensurate with experience.
* High School diploma or equivalent; two (2) years of related work experience in a clerical position involving contact with the public and working with automated systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience with standard office equipment, including desktop scanners, and proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office programs.
* Bilingual skill, with the ability to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish, is preferred.
Special Requirements
* Must be available to work 7.5-to-10-hour shifts between the hours of 8:30 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
* Must maintain current CPR/First Aid/AED and OSHA certifications.
* Must successfully complete mandatory training, including HIPAA, Human Rights and Therapeutic Options.
