ACCOUNTANT/SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

US-PA-Allentown

Would you like to expand your accounting capabilities while supporting the energy transition to address the world's environmental and sustainability challenges? Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a world leading industrial gases company in operation for over 80 years, has an immediate opening for an Accountant/Senior Accountantat our Corporate Headquarters in Allentown, Pennsylvania.This position includes responsibilities in several key areasincluding derivatives and hedge accounting, external reporting, and technical US GAAP research, among others. This position is part of a highly regarded, team-oriented technical accounting, external reporting and consolidations team that is engaged in many aspects of the Company's dynamic, growing business in 50+ countries, and works with various stakeholders within the finance organization. Required Skills / Abilities

  • Prior derivatives and hedge accounting experience not required
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with management, external auditors, and team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong sense of ownershipand motivation

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Accounting and disclosure for the Company's global hedging and derivatives programs in accordance with FASB Accounting Standards Codification 815 and 820 and working with our Treasury team on hedging strategies.
  • Explaining the impacts of hedge accounting to management.
  • Assisting with the preparation, review, and issuance of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP by required deadlines: (1) Annual 10-K report to shareholders and the SEC; (2) Quarterly press release; and (3) Quarterly 10-Q report
  • Providing support to our local accounting teams around the globe to complete statutory financial statements Compiling support for global tax planning initiatives and filings Leading or participating in special projects as necessary

Minimum Hiring Requirements

  • 2 - 5+ years Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA
  • Experience and/or aptituderesearching and applying U.S. GAAP to complex transactions
  • SEC reporting experience

Work Hours

  • Full-time position
  • Ability to work from home (at least 2 days week) subsequent to initial training
