PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Under the direction of the Sales & Marketing Manager, the Energy Sales Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and developing the Energy sales delivery specialist while building strategic customer relationships that deliver profitable growth within the South-Central FS go to market strategy. The Energy Sales Manager will be responsible for direct sales and relationship management with key commercial and farm accounts.

Energy is defined as diesel, gasoline, DEF, lubricants and grease. This position will support the development of marketing plans and accountable for implementation of area plans, to generate profitable market share growth. The position will provide leadership across company departments to maximize cross selling and collaborate with other South Central FS Sales/Area Managers to grow the Energy department.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Supervise, lead, and develop the sales delivery team within the assigned territory by providing leadership, setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and actively maintaining performance management standards.
  • Drives and delivers profitability sales growth.
  • Achieve Growmark Energy Management Specialist (EMS) certification.
  • Responsible for making sure all sales delivery employees understand and execute business imperatives with structured performance review ongoing and twice annually.
  • Support the sales team with sales calls and develop relationships with the top 100 accounts in assigned geography.
  • Responsible for co-developing and implementation of successful marketing plans in assigned South Central geography.
  • Collaborate with the Energy service team to ensure customer & company owned assets are maintained, serviced, and tracked.
  • Responsible for the profitability of the assigned territory through target marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategies, continual management and evaluation of people and go to market approaches.
  • Collaborate foster teamwork between all South Central FS departments and TGM.
  • Responsible to see that safety and safety programs are part of everyday activities within the assigned territory.
  • Monitors accounts receivable in assigned territory, directs sales force in collections, make personal contact with problem accounts for resolution, and advise the Credit Administrator of apparent collection problems.
  • Responsible for maintaining the assigned vehicle according to company standards, adhering to the uniform policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.
  • All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement

Critical Experience:

  • Minimum: College Degree
  • 5-10 years of sales or marketing experience
  • Experience in leading and developing a team of direct reports.

Must obtain the appropriate drivers license for the type of vehicle that will be required to operate to perform all the duties assigned prior to employment and to maintain that license throughout the length of employment. (The type of license required is a Class A C.D.L. license with an endorsement of Hazmat, tank and air brakes.)

Must pass the D.O.T. physical and drug test one week prior to employment and to continue to pass these tests at anytime required thereafter while employed with the company.

Must be able to lift a minimum of sixty pounds over your head of any product, and to be able to position that product in any area required or where the patron or supervisor requests it to be placed.

Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight(s) from time to time as required.

Must work in all types of weather conditions and temperatures.

Must have a working knowledge of applicable company computer programs.
