Job Summary
Supervisor, Psychological Services BASIC FUNCTION: Oversees and coordinates the districts psychological services and ensures applicable state and federal laws are followed.

Qualifications
- Five (5) years of successful experience as a School Psychologist
- Must hold a valid Wisconsin School Psychologist license (#7062) and Wisconsin license as a Director of Pupil Services (#5080) or willingness to acquire within two years of appointment
- Extensive knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and/or federal, state and local laws, rule and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignments.
- Ability to develop and implement effective professional development.
- Ability to problem-solve, mediate and multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Adept in applying procedures, techniques and practices to work problems.
- Extensive knowledge of school psychology practices and methodology, and the integration of school psychology within the educational community. High level of knowledge about special education and pupil services laws and practices.
- Highly developed writing, public speaking and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of leadership and supervision theory and practices.
Responsibilities
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Support and Evaluation
- Support, coach and evaluate school psychologists in job performance skills: assessment; diagnosis; consultation; intervention; and report writing. Support is provided through direct supervision, phone and/or email consultation.
- Evaluate school psychologists following Educator Effectiveness including observation, feedback and documentation in Frontline.
- Consult with administrators related to concerns regarding school psychologist job performance and/or behavior. Follow District discipline procedures for reported concerns regarding school psychologists including misconduct hearings.
- Consult with Specialized Services staff (e.g., SPED Supervisors, SSW, etc.) related to IEP team decisions.
- Support of district initiatives through participation on leadership teams: PBIS, Crisis Team, Suicide Prevention.
- Oversee and consult with psychologists serving in special assignments: SLD support; mentors, practicum coordinator.
- Arrange school and/or IEP meeting coverage for staff absences or leaves.
- Cover for school psychologists at IEP meetings when needed.
- Redeploy staff for special circumstances such as bilingual assessments.
Professional Development
- Develop and update staff manual with District and department policies and procedures.
- Develop and deliver professional development to school psychologists via monthly staff meetings and District PD days.
- Develop weekly staff updates with up-to-date professional development information.
- Develop department PD calendar. Schedule and facilitate participation in monthly staff meetings and bi-monthly department Professional Learning Communities and Professional Development Groups.
- Train newly hired staff in collaboration with the mentor school psychologist.
- Develop and deliver professional development to Specialized services staff when requested.
- Develop resources to assist staff. Maintenance of resources via use of a Google Site.
- Meet regularly with members of the PAMPS union board.
- Meet regularly with department committees: Psychologists Advisory Council; Cultural Responsiveness Committee.
- Develop agenda and meet regularly with Manager to discuss concerns and issues pertinent to school psychologists.
Recruiting and Hiring
- Develop and facilitate recruiting activities: develop relationships with faculty of graduate programs; speak to graduate students; participate in WSPA panel for job seekers; participate in WSPA job fair; attend ISPA job fair; attend NASP for recruiting; develop and disseminate department information to prospective job candidates; provide shadowing experiences to prospective job candidates; provide extended practicum experiences for graduate students.
- Schedule interviews of prospective job candidates; develop interview questions; develop rubric for writing sample; participate on interview panel; make hiring decisions based on interview, recommendations, and writing sample.
Budget, Payroll and Assignments
- Determine school psychologist FTEs for school based on budgetary information provided by the budget analyst.
- Develop and implement annual assignment process.
- Complete budget spreadsheet and submit to budget analyst.
- Review time sheets submitted for extra hours and travel.
- Review payroll entered by department secretary for accuracy.
Materials and Systems
- Maintain and order assessment materials. Manage system for use of test kits by school psychologists.
- Manage subscriptions and licenses to online scoring platforms.
- Order materials and resources for professional activities when requested
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
The salary range is Level 09A $87,000.01 - $125.355.44 12 month/260 day work year
