Allied Sales & Service is looking for an Application Engineer to join our team in Theodore, AL!
As an Application Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support, managing customer interactions, and handling project-related tasks. Additional responsibilities include assisting engineers with technical data and specification development, reviewing public bid projects, managing email communications, and sending quotes promptly.
What You'll Do:


  • Assist engineers with technical data and specification development, and review public bid projects to ensure the equipment meets required specifications.
  • Manage the email inbox to ensure tasks are completed, send quotes to customers and bidding contractors promptly, and answer their questions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of various product lines and manufacturers, size and select pumps and rotating equipment to meet customer needs, and evaluate potential value engineering cost savings.
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine the scope of work, prepare detailed listings of materials and equipment for estimates, and obtain and review vendor quotes for completeness and conformance with plans.
  • Create proposal letters for bid and negotiated projects, and after bid acceptance, meet with the inside sales team to explain job scope and ensure a successful project transition.
  • Must be good at multitasking and working in an environment with changing priorities, while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Other duties may be assigned.



What You'll Need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of engineering or application work in rotating equipment preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical seals a bonus but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or engineering design drawings.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations required for estimating.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and changing priorities as necessary.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Must be a highly motivated individual with outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
