We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director of Technical Operations to lead and drive the technical and operational strategy across the Enterprise Technology Operations organization. The ideal candidate will not only have deep expertise across multiple technology domains such as SaaS, Virtualization, End User Computing, and Development but also a proven ability to operate in a cross-functional environment. Although this role does not involve direct leadership, the candidate will play a critical role in coordinating and aligning cross-functional initiatives, acting as a trusted partner to the leadership team, and collaborating across technical teams, ensuring the smooth execution of organizational priorities. With at least 10 years of technical and operational experience, this role demands a high degree of strategic insight and operational execution to ensure that business priorities are met through the seamless execution of technology initiatives.

This is an IC role that will closely align with the VP of Technology Operations and collaborate closely with leaders across the Technology Operations team and all FOX business units. Prior organizational leadership is preferred.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leadership & Strategy Execution:

    • Define, lead, and execute the strategy for the Technical Operations function, ensuring alignment with the company's broader business goals.

    • Serve as a strategic partner to the leadership team by translating high-level objectives into actionable plans, ensuring key operational milestones are met.

    • Provide oversight and coordination for cross-departmental projects, ensuring smooth collaboration and communication across teams.

    • Lead organizational initiatives aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency and technology delivery.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple technical teams and departments.

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on driving alignment and execution in a collaborative environment.

  • Operational Execution & Initiative Support:

    • Assist in driving key operational decisions, gathering input from various stakeholders, and ensuring timely execution of company-wide objectives.

    • Develop and implement scalable operational policies, procedures, and standards to streamline processes across all technical functions.

    • Work closely with Enterprise Technology Operations leadership to prioritize technology initiatives and assess risks.

    • Act as a key contributor in executing operational initiatives across technical teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.

    • Support decision-making by providing insights and technical expertise to guide resource allocation, risk management, and project prioritization.

  • Risk Management & Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices across all technical operations related to SOX and NIST compliance.

    • Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to safeguard against disruptions.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Partner with multiple organizations to ensure that technical infrastructure supports the needs of the broader business.

    • Act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, providing input on technical requirements, risk assessment, and resource allocation.

    • Work closely with cross-functional technical teams to support and execute the company's technical strategy.

    • Facilitate collaboration between development, infrastructure, security, and product teams to ensure alignment with operational goals.

    • Act as a key contributor in cross-functional projects, helping to integrate technical solutions that meet broader business needs.

  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

    • Provide detailed reports to senior leadership on the progress of key initiatives, operational performance, improvement opportunities, and potential risks.

    • Experience in operational risk management, compliance, and disaster recovery planning.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Experience in technical operations, infrastructure management, or a similar role, with at least experience in a senior leadership position.

  • Proven experience managing large-scale SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure (AWS or Google Cloud).

  • Strong expertise in virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).

  • Extensive experience with end-user device management across a range of environments.

  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies, DevOps practices, and automation tools.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, scaling technology environments, and optimizing performance.

  • Experience with budget management, vendor negotiation, and resource allocation.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Relevant certifications in cloud, virtualization, or IT operations (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware Certified Professional).

  • Familiarity with ITIL or other operational frameworks.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $185,500.00-230,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
