As a Horticulturist at the Omni Homestead Resort, you will assist the landscape manager in monitoring property grounds to ensure a pleasant appearance. Maintain the appearance of planters, or other grounds features by cleaning, replacing or making repairs. Install new flowers and plants. Maintain all interior plant containers, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance. Install, maintain, and operate irrigation systems. Perform pre-operation equipment safety check when using any mower or other equipment.

To provide a positive first impression and establish a tranquil environment for our guests by creating and maintaining an attractive, healthy and lush landscape in both the resort and other remote property locations.

Essential Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:

Designing and create landscape/flower beds throughout the year.
• Trimming and pruning of trees and ornamentals.
• Watering flower beds, containers, and other landscaped areas.
• Applying fertilizers or pesticides.
• Maintain the spa at the serenity garden and all the plants within.
• Planting display beds with annuals, shrubs, bulbs, trees, etc.
• To ensure that equipment is put away and stored properly and that all buildings and gates are secure at the end of the day.
• To aid with special projects
• To maintain equipment and all areas of the maintenance facilities, greenhouses, etc.
• To ensure the cleanliness and safety of maintenance facilities, greenhouses, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA's)

• Must be able to use motorized outdoor maintenance equipment (chain saw, weed eaters, golf cars, etc.)
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays if needed.

Education/Experience/Certifications:

• Current driver's license
• High school or GED required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA's)

• Must be able to use motorized outdoor maintenance equipment (chain saw, weed eaters, golf cars, etc.)
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays if needed.

Education/Experience/Certifications:
