The Department of Arts, Culture and Media at Rutgers University-Newark seeks candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructor or Assistant Professor of Professional Practice. The ideal candidate will be a multidisciplinary practicing artist with teaching experience in a university arts, graphic design, and/or art history program. The applicant should be able to teach foundational courses in various department programs, including Art, Graphic Design, and Art History. Familiarity with interdisciplinary instruction and collaborative work within an urban environment is also desirable.
The position will also include administrative responsibilities such as coordinating course schedules, assisting with recruiting part-time faculty, facilitating course and program assessment, and overseeing equipment. Thus, demonstrated administrative experience in similar areas is also preferred.
The expected start date is January 1, 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately.

Minimum Education and Experience
The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in pertinent area of fine art, graphic design or art history, be a practicing artist, and have relevant teaching experience in a variety of areas.
