Vaco is looking for an experienced Interim Senior Accountant to support our client on an onsite, contract-to-hire basis. This role is suited to a versatile accounting professional with a robust background in general ledger management, reconciliations, and check processing. While tax experience is not required, familiarity with tax processes is a plus, as you will collaborate with tax partners to ensure smooth operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and ready to make an impact in a dynamic environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform general ledger reconciliations and manage journal entries accurately. Process check requests and handle other accounts, ensuring financial data integrity. Collaborate with tax teams to support tax-related functions, assisting with journal entries and follow-up as needed. Reach out proactively to internal and external stakeholders to streamline task completion. Leverage advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and record maintenance. Communicate effectively with team members and management, presenting financial information as needed. Must-Have Qualifications: Strong, diversified accounting background with hands-on experience in reconciliations, general ledger, and check processing. Some exposure to tax functions (helpful but not essential, as complex tax work will be managed externally). Advanced proficiency in Excel, including complex functions for detailed analysis and reporting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of clear, professional presentations. Quick learning ability and proactive approach to task completion. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
