Merchandising Manager - Basketball

PURPOSE

Own the merchandising and Go-To-Market process for the Team/NCAA/Licensed Basketball business. Identify opportunities, gaps and challenges within the Team/NCAA space and drive strategic alignment to push business forward. Facilitate alliances between key business unit partners and adidas Team/NCAA/Licensed Go-To-Market teams to meet and exceed business requirements within the appropriate sales channels. Develop business strategies to achieve calendar milestones, net sales, net margin, inventory, SKU productivity and launch excellence for the Basketball category.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

• Develop and implement the merchandising strategy for the Team/NCAA/Licensed Basketball business, and related categories as assigned
• Connect and collaborate with key sales partners to determine opportunities, address gaps and build plans to drive business growth in each sales channel
• Drive go-to-market excellence by identifying key product priorities for the Basketball category and create alignment between demand planning, purchasing and order fulfillment to ensure products are delivered on time and in full
• Connect with key stakeholders across business units, sports marketing and brand marketing to drive consumer relevant authentic stories, as applicable for Team/NCAA Go-To- Market
• Oversee the go-to-market excellence of assigned categories, including bookings analysis, samples, system management, sales collateral and on time availability
• Present range internally and externally to sales teams and key retailers
• Identify key business opportunities to present to leadership for business growth purposes

• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong business acumen in channel distribution, process, calendars, net sales, margin, profit and inventory management
• Ability to work with and influence all levels of the organization
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Prior knowledge of the team sports industry is preferred

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• A bachelor's or master's degree with emphasis on the areas of merchandising, business, finance, or marketing or comparable professional experience.
• 3-5 years of merchandising, product marketing or planning experience.
