The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institutional (SCI) at Forest is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join us. Our dynamic dental team operates Monday through Friday during normal business hours with no evening or weekend responsibilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Dental Assistant for the Department of Corrections, you will work with our experienced staff to provide essential dental services to our inmate population in a compassionate and professional manner. Your duties will include assisting a dentist during examinations and treatments, scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, maintaining dental records, providing chair-side assistance, and performing dental laboratory procedures. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the oral health of our inmates and contribute to the overall functioning of the dental office. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment (37.50 hours per week)
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
- Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirement:
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
