DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is an entry-level, trainee Aging Care Manager 1 position. Upon successful completion of the 6-month probationary period, you will be promoted to an Aging Care Manager 2, inclusive of a salary increase. Aging Care Managers are trained to assess the needs of older adults, develop and implement care plans, provide advocacy and ongoing care management, and protect consumers from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and abandonment. Our goal is to improve the quality of life for older adults by providing them with access to a range of community and home-based services. We are dedicated to empowering and advocating for the rights of older adults while supporting their family and other caregivers. This position may, at times, require flexible work location and environment. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- You must be able to travel to areas that may or may not be accessible by public transportation.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as an Aging Case Aide 2; or
- A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by twelve (12) credits in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lackawanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lackawanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
