Marine Assembly - Glazing

Under the direction of the Team Lead, the incumbent is responsible for building windshields that are free from defect and adhere to expected quality specifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Runs power/air tools and utilizes drivers/mallets, on a precision basis for the purpose of building window systems.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Identifies mechanical and/or quality problems to proper department.
  • Performs all job functions adhering to established safety standards and always maintains safe practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Any combination of education is equivalent to a high school diploma.
  • Ability to effectively read and communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and capacity to accurately read measuring devices (i.e. tape measure, calipers, etc) and to ensure all parts conform to specifications.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading with ability to identify reference marks for purposes of maintaining accurate parts or modifying those that may not meet the specified standards.
  • Knowledge of part numbers as detailed in blueprints.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds, twenty-five (25) to thirty (30) times per day.
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK

The ability and understanding to make practical and consistent decisions, with product and personnel, is essential to the function. Employees must possess the ability to follow verbal and written instructions to interpret technical guides as well as maintain practical knowledge of tools and shipping and receiving procedures.

RESPONSIBILITY

Incumbent is responsible for following general directions given by Manufacturing Manager and Team Leader. Work is reviewed for adherence to instruction and overall quality. A high degree of accuracy is required to ensure on time deliveries, incoming and outgoing. Errors in the following instructions will result in incorrect and late shipments and customer dissatisfaction.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS

Incumbent has contact with other plant employees. The purposes of these contacts are to exchange information regarding specific standards to maintain production standards and goals.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a typical, comfortable, well-lit, production environment. Work may consist of times requiring some decision making in the application of appropriate methods necessary to make parts fit. Frequent heavy lifting and repeated twisting of parts in unusual ways, however, may require an individual who possesses the agility and stamina to perform work.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Manufacturing Manager

SUPERVISION This position does not supervise anyone.

HOURS: Monday-Thursday; 5:00am-3:00pm

Work Authorization/Security Clearance: Must be able to pass EVerify.
