DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be trained to provide customer-centered services designed to enhance workforce development activities and service strategies for job seekers and employers. Effective services rely on building strong working relationships with internal and external customers and partners while maintaining knowledge of applicable workforce development laws and policies. Work includes professional, clear, and consistent verbal and written communication as well as accurate documentation of activities and services in CareerLink's workforce development tracking system.
You will also be trained to provide career guidance and assessments for job seekers, hiring strategies to address workforce needs for businesses, and labor market information to inform effective decision making for both. This includes effectively listening to and collaborating with customers, colleagues, and partners in addition to promoting PA CareerLink services to businesses, community organizations, and the public. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Trainees will be promoted to Career Advisor after successful completion of the Trainee Program.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mon Valley.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of public contact work that involved interviewing the public to obtain, provide, and evaluate information concerning employment or employability; or
- A bachelor's degree.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
