Job Description

This position, located at JBER Air Force Base, Alaska, involves applying technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions. This position works under the technical guidance of a supervisor or higher-level technician and work product is audited for accuracy:



    Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:



    • Demonstrates skill and knowledge of server management
    • Gathers information from users/computer operators and defines systemic problems
    • Guides users in formulating requirements advises alternative solutions
    • Prepare Data for debriefings and assist with debriefings
    • Analyzes and resolves issues and conducts feasibility studies to recommend data processing, additional programming, procedural, hardware, or software changes
    • Schedule and Perform periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all assigned equipment to including ancillary equipment.
    • Provides recommendations for optimal approach and develops design for new projects
    • Interprets information and informally arbitrates between system users if conflicts exist
    • Respond to notification of malfunctioning systems, including applicable Live Monitor functions; troubleshoot and repair to restore the Ground Subsystems to full functionality..
    • Perform system installation, preparation for use and reshipment


    • Maintain Range Remote Units and all associated communications equipment
    • Identify and report corrections/improvements to technical data


    • Identify and report product quality/materials deficiencies
    • Perform equipment status reporting, as well as maintenance data/job documentation for all maintenance actions


    • Prepare and deliver all reports and required documentation
    • Ensure compliance with BSEt Quality Control and Safety Programs
    • Other duties as assigned by the site manager



    Minimum Education/Experience



    • IAT Level II (Security +, and a certification in an operating system, must keep these certifications current; or the ability to obtain the certifications with 90 days of employment)
    • Associate's Degree in a technical field is required or the equivalent Vocational or Military training
    • A minimum of 3 years' experience is required
    • BS in Computer Science highly desired.
    • Demonstrate competence in all phases of systems analysis techniques, concepts, and methods and knowledge of available system software, computer equipment, and the regulations, structure, techniques, and management practices of one or more subject-matter areas, as well as ability to recognize probable conflicts and integrating diverse data elements and sources, and produces innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems.


    Additional Requirements



    • US Citizen // Top Secret Clearance desired or ability to obtain required
    • Must possess a valid driver's license
    • Must meet all requirements for a flight-line driving permit
    • Work hours will be based on the flying schedule; rotating shifts may be required
    • Ability to speak, read, and write English
