SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Route Auditor shadows a driver during their scheduled commercial or residential route to identify enhanced operating efficiencies. The Route Auditor will recommend improvements in route scheduling and ensure each route is sequenced and serviced accordingly.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  1. 1. Ride with assigned driver on designated commercial and/or residential routes to gather data, including but not limited to travel times, disposal volumes, service and collection times, and accuracy of the route sheet in an effort to reduce cost, improve revenue and reduce safety hazards.
  2. Recommend container repairs or replacements, as necessary
  3. Prepare reports of route audit findings; review all audit data and recommend improvements with Operations Manager.
  4. Monitor driver productivity and damaged inventory.
  5. Ensure proper customer billing by checking actual container weight, container size and number of weekly pick-ups.
  6. Maintain accurate logs and records and enter data in computer.
  7. Ensure adherence to safe work practices



OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Travel up to 80%
  • Normal setting for this job is: office setting and outdoor environments.


No CDL Required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience



  • Education Level: High School
  • Experience: 3 years of routing experience preferred
  • Class C Driver License. CDL preferred
  • Strong Computer skills with Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word

  • Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding, machine operation, etc) most of the work day;
  • Travel from site to site of assigned area
  • Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 20 pounds
  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc) rarely;
  • Required to be climbing, bending, kneeling; operating motorized equipment and vehicles; work in confined spaces; work at heights; work around heavy construction equipment
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;
