About the Role

The Labeling & Packaging Engineering Manageroversees the design, development, and execution of labeling and packaging projects to ensure product lines meet regulatory requirements and quality standards. This role drives innovation to enhance sustainability, cost-efficiency, and product protection, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align strategies with business objectives. The incumbent will lead and support engineering teams in resolving issues related to labeling development, packaging materials, equipment, and processes and ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. NOTE: This is a hybrid position, which will require you to work on-site at least three days per week.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Partnering with project managers to understand priorities, outline assignments and schedules, and identify timelines to meet completion dates and R&D milestones
  • Working with manager(s) to establish and drive department goals and objectives within budget
  • Overseeing the design and development of packaging and labeling solutions to ensure product integrity, cost-effectiveness and compliance with regulations
  • Supporting cross-functional teams in managing project work plans, resources, risks and challenges; provide guidance to achieve project deliverables and ensure technical excellence
  • Monitoring project activities to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable agency regulations
  • Fostering a diverse work environment by recruiting, coaching, and training high-performing staff
  • Cultivating technically entrepreneurial environment; lead and coach direct reports to promote best practices and contribute their full potential to achieve organizational objectives
  • Conducting employee reviews to manage and drive performance, while providing guidance, training and opportunities for development; implement progressive disciplinary action as needed



Required qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline
  • Minimum 6 years of product labeling and/or packaging engineering experience
  • Minimum 3 years of people management and technical leadership experience
  • Project management experience withability to influence and drive performance cross-functionally
  • Experience managing ambiguous situations with strong change management and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to travel (globally) up to 20%



Preferred qualifications:



  • Master's degree in any discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience
  • Experience designing packaging and/or labeling for Class II or Class III medical devices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbally)
  • Organized and results-oriented with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal skills withability to develop and maintain relationships
