What You'll Do

ECS is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a passion for the complexities that lay beneath the surface. As a Geotechnical Project Engineer with ECS you will lead and conduct geotechnical projects of varying complexity alongside a team of expert, like-minded employee-owners. You will lead and conduct field investigations, prepare geotechnical design recommendations and geotechnical reports, manage and prepare cost estimates and contract plans for projects ranging from high-rises to highways!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full lifecycle of geotechnical engineering projects.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and plans.
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and engineering calculations.
  • Perform stability evaluations for slopes, embankments, and retaining walls to ensure safety and integrity of various facilities and structures
  • Recommend innovative geotechnical design concepts to address unique project challenges such as deep foundation systems / piles for subsurface projects of varying complexity
  • Supervise field exploration programs and interpret geotechnical data from boring layouts, utility clearances, and laboratory tests.
  • Perform technical review of engineering designs, drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers and project managers.
  • Assist with business development efforts through community involvement and client engagement.
  • Promote company values, positive culture, and high employee engagement.

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of geotechnical principles.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Understanding of AASHTO specifications and geotechnical design manuals
  • Experience with industry standard software such as: gINT, LPILE, GRLWEAP, PLAXIS
  • Business development experience.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.

Preferred Education & Certifications:

  • MS in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar.
