Job Description

Fleet & Manufacturing Support is developing a team to design a steam generator as part of a VIRGINIA Class modernization effort. This team will design, analyze, and qualify the structural and thermal hydraulic acceptability of the SG in preparation for manufacturing and insertion into the fleet. The position will be responsible for performing thermal hydraulic analysis in support of the development of the SG design. This role provides the opportunity to interface with diverse groups across the lab including future power plant projects, BPMI, and others.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or
Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or
SRE qualified.
Preferred Skills

* Fundamental understanding of fluid flow and heat transfer phenomenon

* Experience with thermal hydraulic analysis

* Experience with NUPAC preferred, but not required

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Experience working independently while also supporting team goals

* Demonstrated drive to achieve project deliverables

* Eagerness to learn and adapt to varying tasks and responsibilities.

Pay Range
$76,400.00 - $117,000.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
