Job Description

  • Serves as a Propulsion Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ATE PO in support of the T700/T55 Product Office and FLRAA Project Office.
  • Supports the planning and execution of propulsion related electrical, mechanical, and software engineering activities in support of the development and integration of engines into aviation platforms.
  • Supports the coordination, development, review, and approval of analyses and trade studies related to engine development activities and to the integration of the engine into host platforms.
  • Provides status to IPTs and program leadership as required.
  • Supports various technical and program management efforts, as directed, related to the engine development and integration efforts.
  • Participates and provides SME input during airframe OEM and engine OEM technical interactions and exchanges.
  • Reviews technical documentation, verification plans and reports to ensure fulfillment of program requirements.
  • Supports requirement trade studies for resolution of emerging issues during engine verification, integration, and validation events.
  • Supports execution of System Verification Review, Technical Risk Assessments, and other technical reviews.
  • Assists IPTs in identifying program risks, issues, and opportunities related to cost, schedule, and technical performance; and ensuring that effective mitigation strategies are developed.
  • Acts within ATE PO as a propulsion SME on duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work/job experience; OASIS Category SME- Operations Research Analyst (20,15-2031).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of propulsion related technologies, engine development, and aircraft integration.
  • Familiarity with principles of gas turbine engine operation and engine and engine controlsystem integration.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the development, airworthiness qualification, integration,system level qualification, reliability and maintainability, fielding, and sustainment of engines, engine subsystems, or LRUs for Army aircraft.
  • Experience in Program Management, knowledge of contract actions/SOWs/CDRLs and Integrated Master Schedules

  • Ability to manage complex development and engineering projects, work effectively with others, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Plans, organizes, and directsthe work of teams or task forces conducting comprehensive trade studies, technical projects, and problem resolution.
  • Develop strong working relationships and rapport with subordinate, peer, and management personnel within the home organization and with contemporary organizations and contract partners



Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
