BH Link Assistant Director (Full Time) East Providence Exciting leadership opportunity available at Rhode Island's first 24/7 behavioral health crisis center! The BH Link is searching for a skilled Assistant Director who is excited to support the growth and development of both clients and clinical staff! The BH Link provides an innovative 24/7 alternative to the emergency room for adults around RI who are in need of behavioral health crisis assessment and referral services. The role of the Assistant Director is to be directly involved in the clinical operations of the BH Link while cultivating a positive program culture that ensures safety and quality of care for all clients served. Roles and Responsibilities: * Provide clinical oversight and support to clinical staff and entry-level professionals of the BH Link, as well as counselors and supervisors of the program's 988 Crisis Call Center. * Work directly with clients of the program to facilitate connections and best outcomes. * Take the lead in regularly scheduled and ad hoc supervision on both an individual and group basis. * Collaborate with the Administrative Director of the BH Link to ensure that the needs of clients and employees are met. * Engage in routine evaluation of the program's delivery of crisis-level services and assist in the implementation of new and existing procedures. * Coordinate across departments and programs, including HR, Payroll, and other clinical providers within the agency. * Provide direct support on an on-call basis to program staff and supervisors. * Represent the BH Link program as needed through communication with local providers, partners, and other stakeholders. * Provide education and training to program staff. * Serve in the following capacity alongside other masters-level clinicians of the BH Link: * Help to assist all clients in navigating their current crisis and the behavioral healthcare system through consultation, assessment, and referral. * Conduct mental status exam and client-centered clinical assessment. * Determine appropriate diagnoses based on DSM-5. * Apply proficiency with ASAM criteria to secure insurance authorizations on behalf of clients served. * Engage in coordination of care to facilitate treatment and recovery connections on behalf of service recipients. * Provide client centered referrals while also screening and assessing for risk factors that may impact the safety of the client or those around them. * Secure and maintain QMHP credentials within the first quarter of employment (provided free of charge by CCA). * Actively engage in solutions-focused referral processes that emphasize the least restrictive level of care possible. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams both within and outside of the BH Link program. * Coordinate insurance authorizations and care coordination with other behavioral healthcare providers. Desired Skills: * Highly empathic and able to make human connections with program staff. * Able to establish professional relationships that cultivate a culture of communication and respect. * Organized in approach and able to effectively balance clinical and administrative roles and responsibilities. * Able to adapt within the context of a rapidly evolving program and systems landscape. * Well versed in psychiatric and substance use disorders. * Able to quickly and effectively develop positive rapport with clients and other professionals. * Excellent clinical and supervisory documentation skills. * Able to apply de-escalation techniques with clients in crisis. * Works well in a team setting and communicates effectively with all professionals. * Proactive and engaged when working with clients and program staff. * Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in fast-paced environments. * Multilingual professionals are encouraged to apply (and reimbursed accordingly). Experience and Education: * Master's degree in counseling or related human services field required. * LICSW (in progress), or LMHC required. * 5 years' experience in behavioral health and/or crisis level of care preferred. * 2 years of leadership/management experience in human services. * QMHP training required after entry for masters-level applicants.
