Welcome to the Myriad Genetics North Carolina Central University (NCCU) recruiting portal. The purpose of this portal is to gather applications for NCCU students interested in Myriad Genetics Scholars Program.

Myriad Genetics is proud to offer internships that create meaningful work experience for students seeking exposure to a fast-paced real-world work environment. The rotational internship program is designed to expose undergraduate students to the genomic testing and precision medicine space and offer opportunities to develop real world skills through meaningful project-based work. Over the course of eight-weeks, scholars will learn from and engage with professionals in various disciplines including established science, clinical, and business professionals while contributing to the advancement of precision medicine and patient care.

Internships are full-time work (40 hours per week) and will be hybrid with in-person working requirements at our offices in North Carolina. Interns may be required to travel to other Myriad campuses at Myriad's expense.

This opportunity is exclusively for undergraduate candidates at NCCU.

As an Intern, you will

Be responsible for the following general responsibilities:



  • Assist with daily administrative duties
  • Collaborate with other interns on multidisciplinary, long-term projects
  • Designing a deliverable related to each focus area within the program in the form of a portfolio of work


Be responsible for supporting various department representatives with the following:



  • HR: Assist with People Team and various business unit initiatives
  • Accounting: Analyze financial data and assist in expense report preparation
  • Marketing: Explore marketing strategies across business units
  • Sales: Review sales techniques and strategies
  • Finance: Develop economic policies based on skillset learned from mentors
  • Genetics: Learn industry and company standard genetics testing practices and contribute innovative ideas to labs and other scientific areas


*Department projects and responsibilities are subject to change based on Myriad team availability

Learning Objectives:

This internship is designed to provide exposure to the following learning objectives:



  • Gain exposure to the variety of disciplines within the umbrella of business at Myriad Genetics
  • Learn about the differences between policies, procedures, and practices of different departments
  • Gain first-hand experience in operations within the biotechnology industry


Success Measures:



  • Attendance over 8-week timespan
  • Completion and Quality of deliverable
  • Quality of work: writing attention to detail


Experience & Education Requirements



  • This opportunity is only for candidates at the following school: North Carolina Central University
  • Junior or 3rd Year standing preferred; Pursuing bachelor's degree in business or science
  • Relevant experience or coursework in the following: Accounting, business, consulting, communications, finance, marketing, sales
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintain excellent organization on all and prioritize effectively; attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to learn concepts and tasks quickly and accurately, not hesitating to ask for assistance when needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to converse effectively and regularly with various levels of management
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a remote environment
  • Computer Skills Required: Intermediate skills in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
