Your Role on Our Team:

Our Engineering Team is responsible to develop "Best-In-Class" products and manufacturing solutions with the highest level of quality. The Technical Supervisor - Rapid Innovation Center (RIC) plays a crucial role in providing innovative solutions to some of the most challenging testing requirements in industry that support our product development teams. The role acts as the leader for the technical staff in the RIC engineering lab. The role will ensure testing is reliable, effective, and efficient. The role will build organizational capacity through continued mentorship in communication, test execution, technical reporting and upskilling.

You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise the technical staff in the lab

  • Mentor and provide guidance to technicians in all aspects of testing and reporting, and drive a high level of technical capabilities

  • Provide instructions and guidance to subordinates and maintain surveillance over operations and activities to complete projects in a timely manner

  • Process tests and advise engineering on effective test methods and procedures

  • Improve lab operation through continuous evaluation and development of lab procedures

  • Maintain the Lab Procedure Manual and assure continued compliance of technicians.

  • Document operating procedures, training information, and work instructions

  • Contribute to organizational goals and objectives

  • Confer with other leadership personnel (engineering, manufacturing, etc.) to provide information and to plan and expedite projects

  • Propose recommendations to the engineering team based off the data collected

  • Prepare reports utilizing a PC with word processing, database, spreadsheet and statistical/graphical software

  • Provide support to the engineering teams in the design and build of test fixtures

  • Knowledgeable of machine component applications and assembly

  • Agility to work on multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency and organization

  • Exercise responsibility for thoroughness, timeliness and accuracy in preparing and reviewing technical reports on tests performed

  • Must be passionate with a strong desire to contribute meaningfully, constantly improve, and excel in a collaborative environment

  • Manage staffing and time reporting of temporary work force

  • Maintain conformance with Company rules and regulations, provide proper staffing and recommend personnel changes

  • Perform hands-on testing using power tools and accessories

  • Follow 5S principles and maintain a clean and organized working environment

  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Team player with great communication skills.

  • The ability to interface tactfully with diverse personalities in multiple engineering teams and work with tight schedules to support the engineering communities is key to success in this position.

  • Strong background of test concepts in design and development of products and components

  • Good planning and organizational skills are needed for success in this position.

  • Fundamentals of electronics, AC/DC circuits, motors, sensors, pneumatics and controllers

  • Flexible schedule to support testing outside the normal shift and weekends when needed

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Requires an associate degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with test equipment, test procedures and methods, mechanical/electrical principles, material planning

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate or VBA
