We are looking for a dedicated Radiologic Technologist like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.
What You Will do in this Role:
- Report to workstation on time and as scheduled and remains at work station until relieved for lunch or end of shift.
- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
- Select length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual patient basis.
- Maintain examination rooms. Stock necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Follow confidentiality standards.
- Work as a team member within the radiology department and all other departments.
- Scrub uniforms, clean and pressed, will be worn at all times when on duty unless otherwise directed by the Radiology Director or designee.
- Complete all necessary forms for each study conducted and coordinates each study with the requesting physician or in their absence, follows instructions on the request form/transmission and checks each order against the physician's order prior to beginning the exam.
- Check arm band on each patient for proper identification.
- Follows Lubbock Heart Hospital policies for time and attendance recording.
- Participate in quality improvement and quality control projects as assigned.
- Follow departmental policies and protocols for each exam performed.
- Maintain licensure and/or certification(s) for all modalities assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining supplies in their assigned area and follows Lubbock Heart Hospital policies for ordering and gathering supplies.
- Participate in inventories of supplies as assigned.
- Reports any mechanical or system problems to the Director or designee.
- Demonstrate initiative in their work habits while maintaining a professional demeanor with all hospital staff, guests, visitors, patients and physicians.
- Efficiently goes about all duties assigned and works toward maintaining budgetary goals.
- Is aware of incident occurrences within their work area and reports within twenty-four (24) hours to their supervisor using the proper form(s).
- Handle patient complaints in accordance with Lubbock Heart Hospital policy.
- Assist in the development of new CPT codes for the purpose of the Lubbock Heart Hospital and Department Charge Masters.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures within their assigned modalities.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Minimum of one year experience in an acute care facility.
- Prefer cross-trained in CT.
- Minimum of ARRT registration in Radiography and/or medical Radiologic Technologist certification from Texas Department of Health Bureau of Radiation Control.
- Maintains current BLS certification.
Your Shift: Part Time Weekends
Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac, orthopedic, nephrology, urology, and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic, orthopedic, urology, and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms, 4 fully operating OR rooms, 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room, 11-day surgery rooms, 58 acute care beds spread over three units, and 16 cardiac critical care rooms. We pride ourselves on giving the best overall care possible to our patients and on our family style atmosphere that includes everyone: patients and their families, physicians, and our employees.
