Correctional Physician - Hospice/Palliative Care Lubbock 39242BR Position Description Provides advanced Hospice/Palliative professional services related to the diagnosis and treatment of inmate patients. Coordinates the delivery of clinical health care within a TDCJ Correctional institution, ensuring that the appropriate health care is accessible and provided to the inmate population in a timely fashion regardless of segregation status. Renders medical judgment regarding care provided to inmates assigned to the unit according to TTUHSC Correctional Health Services Policies and Procedures, TDCJ Policies and Procedures, and National Commission on Correctional Health Care Standards. Works under the general direction of the Regional/Unit Medical Director with wide latitude to exercise initiative and independent judgment. Receives general supervision from the Regional/Unit Medical Director. Work is performed in a correctional institution and in contact with inmates. Additionally, work requires collaboration with the faculty and staff at TTUHSC. Major/Essential Functions This Hospice/Pallative care physician will provide onsite coverage at the Montford Regional Medical Facility located in Lubbock, Texas and will be responsible for the following:

Required Qualifications Current license to practice medicine by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners; current Drug Enforcement Agency and Texas Department of Public Safety controlled substances registration certificates.
