As a Lead Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering at RXO, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability and performance of our systems and applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement and maintain robust infrastructure and automation solutions especially for Oracle applications on Oracle Cloud.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Implement automation tools and processes to streamline operations and reduce toil
  • Knowledge of chaos testing process, tools and identifying system faults
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability
  • Collaborate with development teams to design and deploy applications in production environments
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime and outages
  • Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks and playbooks for operational processes
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely response to incidents and emergencies
  • Automation:Apply automation and software to manual and mechanical tasks
  • Troubleshooting:Troubleshoot complex, cross-platform issues
  • Optimization:Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks and review development designs
  • Review alerts, review release code for irregularities and suggest best practices
  • Continuously evaluate and improve system performance, reliability and scalability

What you'll need to excel:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 6 years proven experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or similar role

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent related work or military experience
  • 7 years of IT experience with 5 years of experience in SRE and its related area
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, such as OCI/SaaS
  • Experience on OTM [Oracle Transportation Management]
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools, such as NewRelic, Grafana or Kibana
  • Solid understanding of containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience in GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform or Puppet
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as Python, Go or Bash
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
