Job Overview:
  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Director of Finance will oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Accounting Department.
  • This role will include direct oversight of the accounting team to ensure that open lines of effective communication exist with all levels of management throughout the organization as well as external clients/consultants.
  • The director will be responsible for the development, documentation, and implementation of scalable policies and procedures to foster continuous quality improvement throughout the Accounting Department. In the near term, will assist with all aspects of a new ERP implementation; including but not limited to staff training and development.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the Accounting Department
    Manage the accounting team to ensure that open lines of effective communication exist with all levels of management throughout the organization as well as external clients/consultants.
  • Working with the Controller, oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of scalable policies and procedures to foster continuous quality improvement throughout the Accounting Department.
  • Assist with all aspects of a new ERP implementation including but not limited to staff training and development.
  • On a regular basis and at a minimum on an annual cycle, review all financial processes and procedures to ensure full compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and external audit requirements.
  • Develop, coach, and encourage growth and personal development within the organization.
  • Understand NetSuite applications in all functional areas of accounting as they relate to complex financial data and business performance metrics
  • Prepare and present regularly scheduled executive briefings to senior management that include financial performance, opportunities for improvement, strategic business financial/operational metrics, market trends, and new ways to monitor/mitigate financial risk.
  • Working across all departments, manage the dynamic integration of technology, process management, and interdepartmental collaboration to build out best-in-class procedures
  • Streamline the financial recording of client sales transactions and collaborate with the Controller to standardize operating procedures across all relevant internal teams including but not limited to Sales, Order to cash, Billing, FP&A, GL, Collections, and Cash management.
  • Understand accrual accounting, contract administration, and relevant systems to identify opportunities to enhance the company's financial accounting processes.
  • Build and foster strong working relationships with all key stakeholders and lead strategic initiatives to improve Client Services processes from a financial perspective.
  • Receive and respond to financial inquiries from both internal and external clients while triaging/delegating to the appropriate accounting department team leader for prompt and professional resolution.
  • Partner with Information Technology to coordinate efforts to support training on new systems and ensure the security/integrity of all platforms.
  • Research and provide potential solutions to complex accounting system challenges
    Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for the general financial operations as needed to support business and any other special projects.

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required. Master's in accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in private industry and/or Big Four Accounting Firm
    Audit or assurance experience required; CPA highly preferred
  • NetSuite, Microsoft Systems and banking portal experience required. Tipalti experience a plus
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership skills
  • Ability to work with senior executives on a daily basis
  • Prior training experience in a customer service-focused role with flexibility to train in-person, digitally, and/or on-site
  • Excellent understanding of fundamental accounting principles e.g. Revenue Recognition - ASC 606
