Job Summary The District Marketing and Communications department is seeking a skilled writer to join our award-winning team as a Marketing Copywriter (PR Marketing Analyst). This position is responsible for developing accurate, quality, audience-driven content across multiple platforms, including print and digital (email, website pages, digital ads, and paid social media ads), in an effort to promote general enrollment, brand awareness, and student retention across all 10 colleges. We are looking for a self-motivated marketing and communications professional eager to learn and grow with our team. The ideal candidate will have a high level of craft in all facets of writing, strong editing and proofreading skills with knowledge of AP Style, interpersonal communication skills, and an ability to effectively collaborate and work cross functionally. Essential Functions 25% - Content Creation for Web, Events, and Campaigns: Develops and refines both short-form and long-form copy for diverse channels, including landing pages on maricopa.edu, emails, and event listings. Creates compelling, informative content that enhances user engagement and drives enrollment across digital and physical platforms. 25% - Marketing and Enrollment Support Materials: Crafts impactful copy for various marketing campaigns, including print and digital ads, paid social media ads, radio spots, and video scripts. Also writes and edits enrollment-focused materials, such as guides and recruitment resources, that support prospective students in their journey to enrollment. 20% - Content Review: Proofreads and reviews marketing materials for accuracy, quality, audience messaging, and brand alignment. 20% - Creative Collaboration: Works with other writers and senior level staff in developing marketing and communications content that meets department goals and advances the Maricopa Community College brand. 10% - Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in public relations, marketing, journalism or related field and two (2) years of professional journey level experience in developing and implementing public relations and marketing activities, projects, and campaigns. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications A) Three (3) or more years of experience in a marketing or advertising role. B) Three (3) or more years of experience in copywriting. C) Three (3) or more years in customer service. D) Three (3) or more years of utilizing brand standards and AP Style guidelines. E) Experience in developing and editing high-quality written materials, including advertisements, client communications, and reports.
