Senior Estimator: This is where you come in.

We're seeking a Senior Estimator who will act as a mentor and trainer, promoting effective communication and building strong, lasting relationships both within the organization and with clients. As Bid Captains, Senior Estimators are responsible for articulating a comprehensive narrative behind their estimates, ensuring clarity and alignment with client expectations. Top deliverables in the first year to be a hero:

Estimate Development & Oversight

  • Oversee the preparation of detailed and accurate estimates that reflect project requirements and scope.
  • Ensure thorough review of project plans and documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Foster strong communication and collaboration with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Serve as the primary contact for inquiries related to project estimates, providing clear and timely information.

Coaching, Mentoring, & Leadership

  • Mentor and coach junior estimators on best practices and professional development.
  • Create a supportive team environment that encourages learning and collaboration.

Sales Support & Customer Relationship Management

  • Provide exceptional customer service, supporting sales efforts through effective communication of estimates and proposals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.

Bid Process Leadership & Storytelling

  • Lead the bid process for assigned projects, coordinating efforts to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Clearly articulate the rationale behind estimates and prepare comprehensive reports that explain the assumptions and methodologies involved.

The Senior Estimator reports to Jeff Phillips, Director of Estimating, and is part of a collaborative team that tackles a diverse range of projects and initiatives to support our expanding business. This prominent role engages with all levels and functions across the organization, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.

Your Background: What kind of person will thrive in this role?

You should have...

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Significant experience as an estimator within the construction industry, with supervisory experience being a plus.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation: $115,000 to $150,000 Annually
